About BMAC

Introduction

BMAC had its humble begins back in 2014. BMAC was formally known as Avondale Martial Arts Club (AMAC). The club started to instruct the students of Avondale College (NOW Avondale University) on the benefits of Martial Arts. Martial Arts could, in fact, be used as a tool to strengthen one's beliefs in whatever higher being an individual believes in. The classes were designed for mainly the students of Avondale College. Since then the path had led to becoming more inclusive. Then it was opened to the rest of the Cooranbong community. Now BMAC is trying to reach out even further to other communities that want to embark on a Martial Art journey.

The Nature of the Club

The classes and programmes within are designed, technique by technique, to bring the practitioner to a new level of understanding of both mind and body. There is a total of five stages which consists of Elemental understanding through training in specific styles/systems of the Martial Arts. Stage 1 is the Earth Element and it uses Tae Kwon-Do, Karate, and similar styles/systems. Stage 2 is the Water Element and Stage 3 is the Air Element and they use Wing Chun, Drunken Fist, Wushu, Tai Chi, and other several Gung Fu styles/systems. Stage 4 is the Fire Element and it uses Ninjutsu. The Open Stage (Stage 5) is something a practitioner will only find out when he or she arrives there.

The training is conducted in an open, safe, and enjoyable manner. Based on the power of natural movement of the artist's body, our students have a somewhat complete Martial Arts experience. All our students are taught from a basic level requiring only reasonable health and fitness. Therefore, there is a sense of inclusiveness experienced within our club. With the training in Stage 1 alone, the students reap the benefits of increased fitness and self-confidence.

What makes this Club different?

The training provides our students with individual self-development, skills, and a sense of "street-ready" capabilities to defend themselves and others in our society today. Our students learn a complete training curriculum for two different age groups - the under-18s and the over-18s. Students will study and train with multiple Martial Arts styles/systems. They will be presented with a complete training programme that will help them build skills, character, and confidence by applying principles of body, mind, and spirit. They learn effective skills in self-protection. And they get the opportunity of exploring other aspects of the Arts such as the Elements.
